Good Evening, Welcome to Snainton Parish Council Website. Snainton Parish Council Snainton has had a Parish Council since 1894. The council has five members who represent the whole parish. The council meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7,30 pm in the Reading Room. Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and may address the council during the Open Forum, which takes place near the beginning of the meeting. Councillors are volunteers who are elected or co-opted. There has not been an election in Snainton for a number of years as there have been insufficient candidates; therefore new members have been co-opted. The Clerk of the Council is a vital team member who provides advice and administrative support and takes action to implement the council′s decisions. The clerk is the proper officer of the council in law, a professional person whose salary is paid from within the precept. What does your council do? The Parish Council can play a vital part in representing the interests of the community. It influences other decision makers and helps deliver services to meet local needs. The council is concerned with planning, highways, traffic, community safety, housing, street lighting, the cemetery and war memorial, litter, seats, shelters and rights of way. It can also take the lead in organising and giving financial support to local projects. Snainton Annual Report Snainton Village Annual Report is now available online in digital format.
